Hurricanes tame Tornadoes Next Game - Jan. 16 @ Westminster vs Blackhawk Sign
the Red Hurricane Report Guestbook "On the road again, they just can't wait to get on the road again. The life they love is play'n hoops with all their friends, and they can't wait to get on the road again." With apologies to Willie Nelson, the Canes were indeed back on the road again. Tonight the road show was in Butler for the Hurricanes to take on the Tornadoes. Some titanic battles have been staged between these two forces of nature in recent years but Butler is somewhat down this year and the Canes have not been playing well as of late. The Hurricanes however knew the importance of the game to their playoff hopes and blew away the Tornadoes in a game that was not as close as the final score, 67-60 The Hurricanes scored first on a jumper by Joe Carter but both teams were cold from the field to start the game and the Canes led only 12-7 after the first period. New Castle began to get the range in the second quarter and out scored the Tornadoes 20-7 to lead 28-14 at the half. The Canes continued to pour it on in the third leading by as many as 23 at one point. Butler came out firing threes in the fourth nailing seven of them, scoring 30 points in the period, to get as close as seven points to end the game. Dom Joseph led the Canes with 18 while Mark Cook added 17. . * Starter
