Canes rise over Seneca Valley Next Game - Jan. 9 @ North Allegheny Sign
the Red Hurricane Report Guestbook After losing in triple overtime to Shaler last Tuesday night, the result of poor shooting, the Canes hoped to feed on the bottom team in Section 3. Seneca Valley the losers of seven in a row coming could have been just what the doctor ordered to pull the Canes out of their three game losing slide. The Hurricanes led the Raiders the whole way but could never quite run away, holding on for a well needed 5448 win. The first half did see the Canes shoot better as they hit six of 10 threes and hold a 34-28 advantage at the break. However the second half they shot only one for five from behind the arc and could just not put the Raiders away. Seneca Valley outscored New Castle 13-9 in the fourth period and closed to within five points with under a minute to play. Dom Joseph was the Hurricanes leading scorer with 17 but was just seven for 17 from the field. That followed a three for 17 night against Shaler. Mark DeMonaco added 12 and Mark Cook rebounded from a four for 17 night against Shaler to score 10. Mike Pagley has decided to quit the team. Due to the floor problem at the fieldhouse Tuesdays game will be at North Allegheny instead of at home. . * Starter
