Hurricanes hopeless in Hopewell Next Game - Dec. 27 in Delaware Sign
the Red Hurricane Report Guestbook The WPIALs #1 ranked team, according the Post-Gazette, traveled to Hopewell to face the Vikings. Instead a team dressed as the New Castle Red Hurricanes took the court. The worst effort, the worst amount of heart and the worst amount of guts was the way Coach John Sarandrea explained it, as the Canes fell to Hopewell 57-40. The Hurricanes trailed by only one after the first period, 15-14, but netted no field goals and only two points in the second quarter to fall hopelessly behind. While the Canes couldnt make a basket, FGs 32% and only four for 20 from behind the arc for the game, the Vikings continued to pour it on. Hopewell led 26-16 at the half and 40-27 after three periods. Hopewell played a zone defense all night but the cold shooting Canes could never bring them out of it. The fourth period saw the Hurricanes outscored 17-13 as they lost every period on the way to the 57-40 defeat. However, hope springs eternal as the Hurricanes travel to Delaware for Christmas for an exciting holiday tournament. . * Starter
