Dom Joseph and Dante Spino spending the majority of the 2nd and 4th
quarters on the bench with foul trouble allowed Erie Central to keep it close but New
Casle was able to pull of the win 70 to 60.
New Castle dominated the first quarter using a full court press jumped out to a 24 to 9
lead. Erie Central eventually solved the press but Joesph picked up his second foul early
and Spino picked up his third not long after. Erie then scored 14 to New Casle's eight to
end the
half and close the gap to 32-23 Canes.
With the starting line up back in to begin the third period New Casle picked up the pace
by hitting a trio of 'threes'. Erie was still able to handle the Canes press and scored
easily but the Hurricanes were able to extend there lead to 53-38 after three quarters.
New Castle had 11 steals for the game and the majority of them came in the
1st quarter the 3rd quarter ended 53 to 38.
Joesph got his fourth foul at the 5:06 mark of the fourth period and Spino received his
fourth on the next play. The score at that time was 61 to 48. Both sat the rest of the
game out. With the two starters on the bench Erie closed the gap to final score again
70-60.
