Cane Train derailed - Hurricanes fall to Montour in OT 50-43

Story
--- Corey Eggleston injured leg in
second quarter, doesn't play in third period. Trys it fourth quarter but is unable to go.
--- Game tied at 40, New Castle had ball with 18 seconds left,
cleared out for Shawn Anderson but after being stopped on a drive he missed a jumper in
the lane.
--- Canes score only 3pts in OT a three by Antonio Rudolph.
The 2011/12 Red Hurricanes team is a very classy team. From
the way they ran onto the court each game during player introductions (no jumps, no chest
bumps, no pat downs) just a simple forearm bump, to being respectful to other teams during
30 point blowouts these Canes handled themselves with class. No arguing with referees, no
pushing and shoving opponents, no show-boating. The credit for a team of young men playing
hard and being respectful goes to them and their coaching staff. A great quote by Red
Hurricanes' Coach Ralph Blundo in the Post-Gazette game story after the Canes first loss
and ouster from the state playoffs shows why this team exemplified character.
"This is not a sad day for New Castle," Blundo
said. "It's unfortunate, but they brought this community on a tremendous run. We
spent the entire year teaching them how to handle success, and they had a ton of it. Now,
we'll have to spend some time teaching them how to handle disappointment."
